An ICM poll in today's Guardian suggests that more Britons want Prince Charles to marry his longtime partner, Camilla Parker Bowles, than think they should stay apart.

According to the poll, 43 per cent think the pair should become husband and wife, compared to 32 per cent who object. This can be compared to 1998, a year after the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, when 46 per cent were opposed and 35 per cent approved.
