The government will today unveil its sexual health strategy aimed at reducing the number of sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies.

As the number of new cases of HIV and Aids continue to rise year-on-year, ministers will detail plans for renewed effort to persuade young people to heed the safe sex message.

The strategy will also outline plans to end the "postcode lottery" in contraception and abortions.
