The RSPCA's director, major-general Peter Davies, has been accused of recruiting pro-hunt supporters to the society.

In a letter to the Times, Lord Moncroft, claims that Davies encouraged the formation of the Countryside Animal Welfare Group to counter "militants" on the RSPCA council.
