Third world nurses set to outnumber new British recruits
The number of foreign nurses registered to work in the UK is about to overtake the total of new British nurses for the fist time, the Royal College of Nursing's conference heard yesterday.
The RCN condemned the "systematic depletion" of many third world countries' workforces as figures show that many of the 20,000 nurses promised to the health service by the government will be recruited in Africa and Asia.
