Lib Dems challenge Labour over elderly care
The Liberal Democrats will today accuse Labour of penalising the elderly for ill-health by charging them for care in residential or nursing homes.
The party will estimate that over 70,000 people will have their homes sold after their deaths so that councils can be reimbursed for the costs of care.
