Janet Street-Porter is to stand down as the editor of the Independent on Sunday after an expected June general election. She is to take the role of "editor-at-large", writing a weekly column and contributing to the daily paper.

Chris Blackhurst, recently Rosie Boycott's deputy at the Express and a former IoS executive and Mike Williams the IoS deputy editor are tipped as successors to the woman credited with the invention of "yoof television".
