Creative industry sees tax burden reduced
Creative industries are to see their tax burdens reduced, as the government moves to expand the sector.
The Treasury has announced that individuals employed in the sector - such as those working in publishing, theatre and film - will be able to spread tax payments over a longer period in order to reflect the "unpredictable" nature of the industry.
Brown also announced the extension of tax breaks for the film industry in a bid to see Britain building on the success of films such as "Billy Elliot" and "The Full Monty".
