DTI to criticise bank for Maxwell deals
ePolitix
Goldman Sachs merchant bank is set to be heavily criticised in a DTI report to be published later this week. It will come under fire for earning nearly £20 million in fees by trading in shares for Robert Maxwell.
The report is expected to attack leading city institutions that advised on the 1991 flotation of Mirror Group Newspapers, concluding that MGN was unfit for flotation and the company's prospectus was flawed.
