Tories reveal rubbish policies
Revealing "common sense for quality of life" plans yesterday, the Conservatives said that residents would have an automatic right to compensation if local councils failed to collect rubbish on time.
Post offices, small shops, pubs and garages could also see their annual business rates cut by up to £1,000 if they are the only businesses serving their community.
Councils would also get powers to fast-track the eviction of anti-social tenants.
