John Major is said to be seething at the latest spat between himself and his predecessor, Margaret Thatcher.

He was angered by Thatcher who, whilst standing only yards away from him whilst in Kuwait last week, said she wished she had "stayed on to finish the job properly" during the Gulf war.

The spat is the latest in a long-running feud between Thatcher and her anointed heir.
