Former Northern Ireland secretary, Peter Mandelson, is said to be confident that the report into the Hinduja "passports for favours" scandal will clear his name although he has let it be known that he does not want to return to the government. However, a leaked section of the Hammond report suggests Mandelson did mislead the prime minister over the affair.
