Tory election war chest grows
The Times reports that the Conservatives are confident of meeting their target of having £14 million available to spend during the forthcoming general election campaign.
Publicity for Stuart Wheeler's record £5 million donation has triggered a flow of smaller donations, it is reported.
However, despite increases in the numbers of small donations and those paying over £100 a year, the party still has a £9 million overdraft.
