Public service reform the goal for the Tories
Leader of the Opposition William Hague will today say that he wants a Tory government to be associated with public service reform in the same way that the Thatcher and Major governments are identified with trade union and economic reform. Hague, speaking to the think-tank Politeia, will accuse the government of "stifling" the public services with over-regulation and Whitehall interference.
