The two main parties will fight a dirty and vicious election battle focusing on the two leaders, it is claimed today.

Labour will claim that William Hague is dangerous and a joke while the Tories will claim that Tony Blair is a weak leader who has failed to deliver.

Hague yesterday unveiled his election team, indicating yet again that the main parties are now firmly on an election footing.
