Anti-Catholic laws to be repealed
Ministers are to rush through the Commons legislation to repeal a series of anti-Catholic laws preventing former priests from sitting in the House. The move is due to David Cairns fighting the safe Labour seat of Greenock and Inverclyde. Cairns was a priest until 1994.
