Tory party strategists are understood to be warning William Hague that he could come off "badly bruised" by a TV head-to-head debate with Tony Blair and Charles Kennedy. They believe the Tory leader's recent run of poor performances against Tony Blair at the despatch box could signal that the Labour leader would trounce Hague in any live TV debate.
