GM protesters cleared
Farmers and the DETR are braced for future attacks on GM crop trials after 28 Greenpeace campaigners, including Lord Melchett, were cleared of criminal damage by a jury at Norwich crown court. While admitting to the destruction of six acres of GM maize, they had argued their actions were to prevent genetic pollution.
