Time to pop Skinner's cork?
Liam Fox was under considerable pressure in the Commons today over the Werrity affair, but he still found time to goad a Labour old timer.
Dennis Skinner is not the firebrand he once was, but under the right circumstances he can still wound and harry his favourite prey, namely coalition ministers.
But today he was not at his best, with a wandering statement about decisions on ministerial futures not being made by noisy backbenchers.
He noted that the "right-wing press" have turned on the defence sectretary.
"It looks to me like Cameron is going to get his Fox," he told MPs, which while a cunning reference to the PM's support of blood sports, received a flat response from the House.
Quick as a Fox, Liam observed that "it is possible to keep a good bottle a little too long".
Touche.
