Network Rail executives will be giving evidence to the transport select committee next Tuesday.

They will be asked to explain how and why last year's extreme winter weather caused such levels of chaos on the railways.

The committee will also hear from the Association of Train Operating Companies, the Highways Agency and the Local Government Association.

At the same time, Fulham FC player Brende Hengeland will be giving evidence to the culture, media and sport committee as part of its ongoing investigation on football governance.

Hengeland is on the management committee of the professional footballer's association, and is also captain of the Norwegian team.

He will be joined by the PFA's chief exec and Paul Elliot, former Chelsea captain and a PFA trustee.

Also on Tuesday, justice secretary Ken Clarke will take questions in the Commons. Expect votes for prisoners to come up.
