PM and Sarkozy to unveil defence deal
The UK and France are set to sign a treaty agreeing to the joint development and testing of nuclear warheads.
Prime minister David Cameron and President Nicolas Sarkozy will later sign the agreement and outline plans, at a London summit, for a joint army expeditionary force.
Business in the Commons begins with questions to health secretary Andrew Lansley and his ministerial team.
Lib Dem MP David Ward will propose a bill under the ten minute rule motion to stop banks from abolishing cheques.
MPs will then continue to debate the remaining stages of the Parliamentary Voting and Constituencies Bill, before sending it off to the Lords.
In the upper chamber, the afternoon session will begin with questions to the government on the role of the state, government fiscal policy, illicit attempts to acquire intellectual capital and restraint methods used in deportations.
Peers will then debate future energy policy and climate change.
On the committee corridor, the health committee continues its look at the NHS commissioning process, following the health secretary's announced plans to change the way primary health services in England are to be commissioned.
The Treasury committee continues its inquiry into the Spending Review with evidence from more experts and they will take evidence about proposed cuts to housing support and welfare.
And the culture media and sport committee will propose cuts in funding to preserve British heritage. Witnesses include the Historic Houses Association, Heritage Lottery Fund, and Loyd Grossman, chair of the Heritage Alliance.
Elsewhere in Westminster, the Westminster Dog of the Year Competition 2010 takes place in Victoria Tower Gardens. Dogs of all shapes and sizes belonging to MPs across the political parties compete for the winner's trophy.
