Lansley kicks off busy week

By Tony Grew
- 3rd June 2011

Parliament returns on Tuesday and in the Commons it is right down to business, with Andrew Lansley and the health team facing questions about their reforms of the NHS.

There will also be the second reading of the Terrorism Prevention and Investigation Measures Bill.

On Wednesday, after international development questions and PMQs, MPs will move a humble address on the occasion of the Duke of Edinburgh’s 90th birthday.

There is an interesting adjournment debate on Thursday on cannabis and psychosis in young people, and on Friday the House will consider private member's bill - the first two on the order paper are both Christopher Chope's efforts.

The Lords will return to the committee stage of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill on Monday - they come back a day before the Commons - and again on Thursday.

They will also consider the EU Bill and the Localism Bill next week.

And on the committee corridor Wednesday will be the day for spotting ministers, with Vince Cable, Theresa May, Jeremy Browne, Lord Hill of Oareford and John Hayes all giving evidence to various committees.
