In the pink

By Tony Grew
- 3rd October 2011

There is a decidedly pink tinge to this year's Tory conference.

Yesterday saw the launch of a new book entitled: Tory Pride and Prejudice.

Eric Olleranshaw and Stuart Andrew were among the MPs to attend.

The book is described by publisher Biteback as "an authoritative but highly accessible account of the Conservative Party's social attitudes from the 1950s to the present day, with a particular focus on homosexual law reform and equal rights for LGBT citizens".

Then there is Conference Pride.

Now in its third year, the official gay party should attract some big names – in past years the guests of honour were Eric Pickles and Theresa May.

Perhaps the PM, who is a strong supporter of gay marriage, might pop down to Manchester's Canal St tonight and show off his dance moves?
