Gillian Duffy strikes again

By Tony Grew
- 12th April 2011

the deputy prime minister has been doorstepped by Mrs Gillian Duffy, the Labour party supporter famously insulted by Gordon Brown during the 2010 general election campaign.

Mrs Duffy has been seen around Westminster and at Labour conference since 'bigotgate', and today proved her political worth to the party.

Nick Clegg was visiting a factory in Rochdale when the town's most famous pensioner stepped in to ask him some pithy questions.

Clegg was clearly ready for her as you can see from this video on the BBC website.

Our favourite Gillian D moment? When she sent Tony Benn to the land of nod during an uncomfortable conference encounter.
