Cameron welcomes Thatcher's return

The prime minister has welcomed the news that Lady Thatcher has been released from hospital.
David Cameron said the whole House would welcome her return home and wish her "better health".
Conor Burns (Con, Bournemouth West) who is a close friend of Lady Thatcher, raised the matter during the PM's statement on the European council.
He welcomed her "return to home and health" this afternoon and suggested Cameron ask the Lady what other instrument he could use, instead of a handbag, to get EU leaders to grip the Euro budget.
Cameron pointed out that the rebate Lady Thatcher negotiated with the EEC at the Fontainebleau summit in 1984 had saved the UK £88bn - it was ceded by Tony Blair in 2005.
There was also some amusement during the PM's statement when Chris Bryant (Lab, Rhonnda) attacked Cameron on the EU budget increase.
Bryant said the PM had not got the support of Poland, despite the fact that the country's foreign minister "was in the Bullingdon club with him".
Cameron pointed out that while both he and Bryant were at Oxford, only Bryant was a member of the Conservative association.
