BBC to broadcast Lloyd George lecture

A lecture on David Lloyd George by Lord Morgan will be broadcast on the BBC Parliament channel this weekend.

It is the first of a series of lectures about eminent 20th century politicians held in the Speaker's House, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Parliament Act 1911.

Lord Morgan's lecture was held on Tuesday - the dates of the other 10 lectures will be announced in due course. They are:

Baroness Williams on Nancy Astor

Nicholas Soames on Winston Churchill

Gordon Marsden on Aneurin Bevan

Lord Norton on Enoch Powell

Lord Kinnock on Michael Foot

Lord Hurd on Ian McLeod

Lord Adonis on Roy Jenkins

John Whittingdale on Margaret Thatcher

Tristram Hunt on Tony Benn.

The Lloyd George lecture will be broadcast on BBC Parliament on Saturday at 9pm and will be available on the BBC iPlayer.
